Our final RAEME Sunshine Coast Chapter get-together for 2025 will be held on Sunday, 23 November at the Alex Surf Club. We’ll gather upstairs in the Terrace Room at the Bistro, with the merriment commencing from 12:00 noon.

Following the success of our previous two events this year (and with more members recently joining our Sunshine Coast Chapter), this pre-Christmas gathering is shaping up to be even more popular. We’re looking forward to welcoming new faces and reconnecting with the more longstanding members, spouses, and friends.

There’ll be some special lucky door prizes up for grabs, but of course, the real highlight will be simply enjoying each other’s company. Don’t miss out on what promises to be another memorable afternoon!

Parking: There is plenty of parking available either directly in front of the club or across the road in the club’s detached car park, accessible via Mari Street.

3 CSSB will be hosting the RAEME birthday celebrations for North & Fart North Queensland regions. The celebrations are for all members of the Corps, past and present, in the region to enjoy.

There will be food and drink available, a Trade display and a number of Raffles and Prizes to be won.

The traditional events will take place as part of the celebrations:

• Show and Shine
• Billy cart event

The events are to be a test of strength and skill as well as fostering a friendly rivalry amongst RAEME elements in NQ. Each unit will have the opportunity to enter one or more teams.

Guests attending will need to register with Cpl Jon Lewis (email above). For those without a valid pass, CPL Lewis will provide details of where to assemble. The activities are to be conducted in the New 102 Fd Wksp Area.

RAEME Birthday has a long standing tradition which encourages maintaining traditions and fostering esprit de corp. This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for serving and non-serving members to celebrate the proud heritage of the Corps and thank all members for their service.

RAMS will be hosting an all ranks mixed dinner to celebrate RAEME's 83rd birthday, held in the RAMS main hangar on Friday 28th November 2025. The dinner is open to all serving & ex-serving members of the Corps, and invited guests. The dinner provides attendees a chance to celebrate the occasion and interact in an enjoyable and relaxed environment..

The evening will include the recognition of select personnel through promotions and farewells, set against the backdrop of a formal dining experience. In addition to the ceremonial aspects, the dinner promises to be a memorable social event, with a focus on building esprit de corps and reinforcing RAEME values. We warmly encourage all members, partners, and invited guests to attend and contribute to the significance of this occasion.

G’day all, It’s that time of year again.

The Royal Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers has a short, but glorious history, formed in 1942 when the repair facilities of the Ordnance Corps (AAOC) and the Service Corps (RASC) were combined to form the Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (AEME). AEME was granted the title of ‘Royal’ in 1948. The Corps has since enabled Army manoeuvre and combat power throughout a plethora of overseas and domestic operations and exercises.

As one of the largest, yet most distributed Corps within the Australian Army, it is important for current and ex-serving members to congregate and celebrate the Corp’s birthday. 13 CSSB, will act as the host for the regional 2025 celebrations being held on 28 Nov 25. All regional current, and ex-serving members of the Corps and associated personnel are invited to participate in the birthday celebrations held within 113 Workshop Company, Irwin Barracks. This annual event boasts a great opportunity for all past and present regional RAEME members to gather in a social setting, whilst promoting esprit-de-corps and allowing the opportunity for the presentation of RAEME specific awards.

Date and time: Friday, 28 November 2025, 1100-1500

Location: 13 CSSB Workshops.

Who: RAEME Association and all serving and ex-serving members within the region.

What: Our intent is to open the workshop for activities from 1100 that day. We’ll have several traditional activities ready to go including a Spanner Throw, Heave competition and a mini-golf challenge, all with prizes to be won. Business vendors, Various Tool vendors, Blackwoods/Wurths all on display. The BBQ will be cooking from 1200 and the Bar will open at the same time. There will be a traditional raffle as well as a door prize.
